- Dress of the Month ft. boohoo...

boohoo yasmin ruffle dress

Today I wanted to share with you an outfit that appears to be the true definition of #basicbitch, but it's one I adore nonetheless.

I'm over the moon to have been selected to take part in boohoo's January Dress of the Month campaign! The idea behind this is that each month, boohoo will surprise a selection of bloggers with one of their pieces and challenge them to style it in their own individual way!

Exciting huh?!

Before agreeing to take part, I requested to see said item as I wanted to make sure it actually aligned with my personal taste and style but boohoo decided to stay schtum as the surprise was part of the challenge, which made me even more intrigued!

I had absolutely no idea what my new wardrobe addition would be, but thankfully (there is a fashion God) I *adore* what arrived!

Meet the Yasmin Ruffle Front Sweat Dress*. Slouchy, oversized fit, long sleeves, thick material and boasting the current key trend of ruffles and frills; this dress is perfection. It's quickly become my go-to wardrobe option, especially with the current chilly weather. The ruffle is probably larger than what I'd have chosen myself as I tend to go for more subtle details, but I've fallen in love with the shape and feminine touch it adds.

As you can see, when it came to styling I let the ruffle do the talking. As well as trusty black, another colour I've been loving this Winter is light grey. There's something about it that gives an outfit a fresh, modern feel and it suits all complexions.

I threw this exact outfit on earlier in the week as the dress thankfully isn't too short for work (an annoying issue I have being 5"8) and it provided more than enough warmth. I finished off my outfit with a smart twist thanks to one of my recent sales purchases: pointed western-style shoe boots.

Dress*: boohoo
Knit: Uniqlo
Boots: ASOS

This Yasmin dress turned out to be the perfect transition piece, as I headed straight out to dinner after work and then watched a play called BU21 - if you're in London I *totally* recommend it!

I'd love to know what you think of this dress and the way I've styled it. As for the price, prepare to be positively surprised. Twelve pounds! I honestly can't believe such a timeless, high-quality piece is such a bargain! I'm seriously impressed by the range of affordable dresses topping the fashion scale boohoo have to offer! This dress also comes in blush & grey...

*psst* there's still time to enter my giveaway!
