- Waving Goodbye to 2016 & Welcoming 2017...

IT'S CHRISTMAAAS!

*cue annoyingly overplayed song*

...but in all seriousness, I hope you're all having a lovely day however you're choosing to spend it. As much as I'm grateful for gifts received and how much I love a good snoop at what others got, I feel the best gift of all is getting to relax with loved ones and having time off work (because, old). Consider my brain truly switched off... and it feels great!

If you've been reading my blog from the start (thank you!) you would have noticed the obvious: my blogging schedule has been somewhat pants this year. I don't typically reflect on things too much at the end of each year, but have found myself to be doing so this time round.

I've realised 2016, for me, has been about finding my feet. It's been the first whole year I've spent living in London and working full-time. When I compare my life to this time last year I feel I've progressed a lot but all of my achievements have been offline and, as a result, my blog suffered (lol dramatic? me?).

What I mean is, I got myself into a routine and ensured I had the right balance between staring at screens and spending time offline. I started to cook more (and even bake!). I upped my fitness game and managed to stick to it with weekly (sometimes twice a week!) rock climbing and spinning. 2016 was the year I signed up to the gym...and enjoyed it (thanks to Rob being my personal trainer)! Next on the list is to go swimming more often and do more park runs.

Just as I got personal goals sorted and felt ready to spend more time online, life got even more hectic. Have I been feeling festive this year? Well, I was. And then I decided to get a new job and move house (to a completely different part of London).

I've managed to land a role I'm super excited about at a company I'm even more excited about, but, boy, was it tough. There were endless stages, all whilst packing my life into boxes plastic bags - not exactly an Instagrammable life.

I usually cringe at the whole 'new year, new start' palava, but I really feel like I'm entering a new chapter of my life with 2017 around the corner. I can't wait to make our house all homely, to learn things at my new job, and get my routine back, and this time, hopefully, one that doesn't abandon blogging. I'm going to remain realistic but believe me, I'm going to do my best.

2016 was about finding my feet. I now feel ready to walk/climb the path...

  4. Haha, I have to agree with the whole "new year, new me" shenanigans. As I've grown older I'm loathed the concept more and more. xD BUT, I DO have some goals I want to achieve next year, and I must admit that I'm looking forward to *hopefully* the fresh start that 2017 brings. Good luck to you!
