- Life Lately in London...

Where do I start?

I've missed creating my 'Summary Lifestyle' posts so much. They're definitely my favourite to write as I love gathering memories into snippets and showing you all what I've been up to, especially as I live in the city that never sleeps!

I've recently joined the Instagram story bandwagon (a tad late to the party I know, but blame my old banger of a mobile), and it's safe to say I'm ob-sessed.

I've been posting segments of my life daily on there and love watching other peoples'. It makes me wonder whether the frequent up & coming features on social media platforms will eventually lead to the death of blogging. Whilst I absolutely love writing and releasing my thoughts on my little corner of the Internet, there really is something appealing about the efficiency something like Instagram stories provides, whilst still enabling a strong level of engagement and interaction.

Idk. Just throwing it out there.

You can catch me over at @stylesunrise_ for live updates of where I am/what I'm doing, but if you're keen to see what I've been doing lately, please follow on below.

OUT & ABOUT...

I was very, very lucky to attend an exclusive evening with Magnum thanks to my lovely blogging buddy, Carolin. Their famous 'Pleasure Store' returned over Summer, this time in a larger store located just off Bond St. We were spoilt with incredible cocktail concoctions (chocolate, salted caramel and sea salt!) and were shown how to create our own Magnum #foodporn. I opted for white chocolate, coconut, pistachios and salted caramel - mmmmm... Unfortunately the store has closed now but I already can't wait to see what they come up with for next year as now a plain Magnum just won't cut it ;)!

If there's two things you need to know about me it's I love going to the theatre and I love surprises. Last week Rob treated me to an evening out so we headed to Dishoom; an amazing place with Bombay food and the most incredible selection of chai drinks. On our way out we took a detour and it turned out he had booked us tickets to see Aladdin - oh em gee! It was super duper, especially the flying carpet scene! Sidenote: this was on a Monday evening and it made us realise we ought to do more on Mondays- it felt like an extended weekends and our working week felt shorter because of it - win!

FITNESS...

I've been climbing/bouldering for around 3 years now and you've probably seen photos of me on the wall in just about every one of these lifestyle posts, but it really is a passion of mine. I've recently been going twice a week rather than once and have definitely seen progress - I can complete more difficult routes and feel a lot stronger.

I'm still upping my running game and yet to book onto a 10k park run, but it's inevitable I promise! I'm obsessed with my new Asics I got for my birthday, it's crazy how much comfy yet trendy sportswear effects your motivation!

HEALTHY BAKING...

Wow, so I've been well and truly spoilt by graze once again. I don't know what it is, but these guys just seem to know when I've had a crappy day as all of their previous deliveries have been so well timed! I'm so pleased to see graze are expanding more and more into the healthy world and have now introduced their new Supersnacks* range! They cover both on-the-go snacking and ingredients for baking with their online shop - I can't wait to tuck in!

I'm going to be truly honest here, but when a Youtuber releases a product I typically sigh and view it as overpriced/money grabbing and unoriginal. However, my views can't be further away from this when it comes to Niomi Smart's #EatSmart recipe book. There's just something about Niomi that keeps me watching, I guess it's because we're very like-minded when it comes to healthy living and she comes across very genuine - unlike a lot of other Youtubers #sorrynotsorry.

I ordered #EatSmart the day the above bundle from graze arrived and by coincidence Niomi used a lot of the products in her recipes. Therefore, I took to some healthy baking on Saturday and made her Cacao & Coconut Granola using graze cacao nibs followed by her Raw Fig & Baobab Bars using graze baobab powder - yummy!

What did you think of this post? Don't forget to catch me on @stylesunrise_!

  1. I love Instagram stories too although I use it intermittently because sometimes my days just aren't that interesting haha. I'm loving Eat Smart too and I actually made the cacao and coconut granola too although yours looks much better than mine!

  2. I adore Instagram Stories too! I didn't think I would love it as much but I do even though it takes me 10 takes to get the right video up. LOL!

  3. I still didn't get the chance to visit the Magnum store this year but here's to next year hopefully. Your personalised ice cream looks amazing! How sweet and what a nice surprise to go see Aladdin, I'd say the show was amazing! I have been tempted to pick up Naomi's book but did wonder if it would be relatable in terms of ingredients, as I'm not that healthy x

  7. Your Magnum creation is a masterpiece! They need to bring that out! I was just getting the hang of snapchat when Instagram stories came out - then I got confused! Both of them kind of remind me of old-school Youtube and I agree it will be interesting to see what kind of an impact they have on the whole blogging world. x

  9. Wow, we share a lot of things in common! And I agree with what you said about Instagram Stories; I just really hope this does not mean the death of blogging anytime soon. I just got into it, and I love it!

    I'll definitely be back. :)
