- Degustabox: August'16...

Still playing catch-up with Degustabox* :). Can you believe I've been receiving these boxes for two years now? Madness.

If you're new to my blog and not heard of Degustabox before, it costs just £12.99 (inc. delivery) for a selection of 9-14 surprise food and drink items, most of which are new to the market. If, like me, you end up picking up the same items during your weekly food shop, this box is perfect for you to make new discoveries and try things you might otherwise miss out on.

As always, Degustabox have kindly provided me with a discount code to share with you: simply type 'BLDEG15' when registering to get £7.00(!!!) off!

If you read my previous post, you'll have seen that I preferred this August box - let me show you why...

Dorset Cereals Bircher Muesli, RRP: £3.49

Breakfast has always been my favourite meal of the day; I've never understood how people can skip it even back when I was a teen (when I certainly wasn't health conscious). One thing I dislike is getting stuck in a routine of having the same thing every morning. Therefore, I like to have numerous options in stock that are all fuss-free for when I'm in bleary-eyed-zombie mode. This muesli is a welcome addition and came with a little scoop which is super handy to have around. The packaging contains overnight muesli, yoghurt & fruit recipes using the scoop as a measurement - perfect idea!

Willy Chases's Fit Corn, RRP: £2.19
Rakusen's Snackers, RRP: £1.29 (plain), RRP: £1.49 (gluten-free)

Apple Cider Vinegar popcorn? Yep, at first I thought this sounded rank, but it surprisingly works. I wouldn't rush out to buy it but it's a nice change from the typical sweet/salty options. As for the crackers, I love that they're bite-sized. I've been reaching for them as a snack when I get home from work - who said cheese & crackers was just for Christmas?

Oloves, RRP: £1.00
Clipper Tea, RRP: £1.59

Oloves is a brand I have a lot of love for - the name, the messaging and for the olives themselves. I won one of their Twitter competitions over a year ago when they were new to the scene and became obsessed. Their olives really are the juiciest and flavoured amazingly. It's great to see how the brand has grown!

Another brand high on my radar is Clipper. They're green tea is my favourite and I love that they have a lime & ginger flavour - the flavours compliment eachother so well and it's a welcome varitation to lemon!

Nutripot, RRP: £2.49 (each)
Tabasco BBQ Sauce, RRP: £1.99
Capsicana Peruvian Cook Sauce

These Nutripots were an interesting discovery. I've never (and probably will never) been one who counts calories, but instead I look at protein and sugar content. These are the two I focus on as in my eyes a healthy lifestyle is based on foods high in protein and low in sugar. I was surprised to see each pot has ~20g protein as they contain soya protein - such a good idea and they were both super tasty!

The cooking sauces are still in my cupboard waiting to be used, but they both sound amazing and are a quick fix after a long day.

Geeta's Mango Chutney
Geeta's Curry Pastes, RRP: £1.00 (each)

When it comes to Indian food, Geeta's is a leading brand in my opinion. I've loved these products for years now and as soon as I saw the turquoise packaging I was a happy bunny - can't wait to use them!

Get More Multivitamins, RRP: £1.45
Fentimans
Mahou, RRP: £1.20

This box didn't go overboard on the drinks this time, which pleased me as sometimes I find this strangely off-putting (maybe I'm just more of a foodie?!). Here's a question: Do people still keep their Fentimans bottles to put single roses in for Instagram/Pinterest worthy shots?

This box was a great balance of revisiting brands I adore (oloves, geeta's, clipper) and introducing me to new ones (the popcorn, crackers, nutripots)! It ticks the boxes for providing items for all three key meals of the day, plus drink options. Overall, it's a winner in my eyes - and pretty healthy overall?

What do you think of this Degustabox? Don't forget, you can receive your first box for just £5.99 using the discount code above!

*Products marked with an asterix (*) have been gifted. I only feature products/services to my personal taste and all opinions are 100% my own.
