- Degustabox: April'16...
Happy May everyone! Wow, that happened fast. I've noticed the monthly Degustabox* boxes come round so quickly too... where does time even go?! After the previous March box focused on Easter, I was slightly disappointed to see no obvious theme with the April box (I find themes much more fun, maybe just me?!), but was still super excited to dig in and find out what was inside. Incase you've not seen my previous posts about this food & drink delivery service, at just £12.99 (inc. delivery), it's a great way to explore different products you might otherwise bypass. There's usually 9-14 surprise items, most of which are new to the market. As always, Degustabox have kindly provided me with a discount code to share with you: simply type 'BLDEG15' when registering to get £6.00(!!!) off! So let's see what they have to offer this time around...
Veetee, RRP: £1.29/£1.49Levi Roots Coat 'n' Cook Sauce, RRP: £1.00
With no breakfast items this time round (*sob*), it's straight into cooking ingredients. Veetee microwaveable rice is immediately a winner in my eyes as I hate waiting around for rice to cook when the rest of a meal is ready to demolish. The wholegrain brown rice and quinoa mix earns even more points as these are what I tend to reach for.
Another winner is the Jerk cooking sauce. Jerk is one of my favourite flavours ; I teamed this practical sachet with chicken for a quick, tasty mid-week meal.
Canderel, RRP: £3.00
As someone who's trying to reduce sugar consumption where it's not necessary, I was happy to receive this Canderel. It's recommended to use in hot drinks or sprinkle over cereal, but as someone who doesn't do this typically with sugar, I think I'll save this for when I get round to doing some baking.
Popchips, RRP: £1.99
Just thinking of the BBQ Popchips makes me salivate, so I was thrilled to see they've expanded their flavour range - these sea salt, garlic & rosemary are so moreish!
Bebeto Fruit Strings, RRP: £1.99Milkybar, Smarties, RRP: £1.00, £1.29
I'm definitely a chocolate over sweets person, so admittedly I brushed these fruit strings aside. They seem like a healthier version of the classic strawberry laces, so perhaps they'd be more appealing to children than myself. Plus it's worth noting they're suitable for vegetarians and vegans!
What did draw me in, though, were these two bars of chocolate... they didn't last long with both me and Rob around.
Parle Rusk, RRP: £0.89Parle G, RRP: £0.25
At first, I thought the Parle Rusk were crackers to have with cheese, but they're crunchy toasts with Cardamom. Super intriguing and super tasty - especially when teamed with a cup of tea.
As for the Parle G biscuits, they do taste ultra sweet and don't have the healthiest sugar content, but they're the perfect size for a small, naughty treat now and then...plus so cheap!
THØR, RRP: £1.80 (each)Green Lady, RRP: £1.99Rejuvenation Water, RRP: £1.99
I always enjoy seeing the drink concoctions this monthly box contains. This time round were some Spritz drinks, sparkling tea and spring water enriched with amino acids - all of which are yummy, refreshing and I'd recommend!
After the very snacky March box, I was happy to see a good mix of items this time round. I feel like this box really helped me create meals by including interesting cupboard essentials - plus some very welcome treats!
What do you think of this Degustabox? Don't forget, you can receive your first box for just £6.99 using the discount code above!
