- Trying REN Skincare for the First Time...

The title of this post may come as a bit of a shock to you but yep, I'm yet to give REN skincare a whirl. It's a brand I see a lot of rave reviews about on the blogosphere and features on Instagram and in magazines; heck, they're even a regular in the circulation of magazine freebies!

But somehow it seems to have escaped my skincare collection. That is, until I saw this mini trio* peeping back at me amongst the goodies after the whirlwind evening that was Cosmopolitan #FashFest back in September.

This cute pouch of travel-size products belongs to the REN Vita Mineral range, which focuses on boosting hydration and increasing replenishment - perfect for my dry, currently dull complexion. Contained in it were:

• Daily Supplement Moisturising Cream
• Active 7 Eye Gel
• Lip Balm

When first trying the kit, I instantly noticed the light, refreshing scent - just what skincare should smell like if you ask me. I actually looked forward to applying these products each morning and evening due to their fragrance alone. That wasn't all that impressed me, though, as in my opinion all 3 are faultless.

The moisturising cream is the most perfect texture which absorbs at a fast rate, providing a wonderfully smooth base for makeup. The clear eye gel immediately felt revitalising and fresh upon application, and the lip balm has been my holy grail choice during these colder months. It's quite a thick balm, but feels luxurious and adds a subtle shine to the lips.

I really do think this is the most perfect travel-size trio, and it's definitely inspired me to check out the fill-size versions and more of their products!

Have you tried REN skincare before? What are your thoughts?

  1. I absolutely love Ren as a brand, such good quality products and whilst they are quite expensive so I couldn't justify using lots of them, the odd product is really worth investiving in!

  2. I've actually never tried REN before either! The expense puts me off but I imagine a little kit like this is the perfect way to try out the products before making the investment in larger sizes.

  7. The kit has changed my skincare life :) I bought the moisturising cream (bit heavy at £20 but so worth it!) as this was the only cream I've tried recently that wouldn't mess around with my skins ph-value. The eye gel felt cooling but I didn't see much of a change tbh. The lip balm went into the bin as it had a really horrible smell. Could be that mine was off but overall I'm really pleased we got that kit back in September as I got introduced to a fab skincare brand. Sorry, got a bit long. Happy lunchbreak xxx

  9. I've tried a Ren BB cream before that was quite good for a quick and light base but I haven't given the skincare products a try before. The eye gel sounds very intriguing! :)

  11. Omg I have this exact same set to use! I've heard so many good things about Ren and I'm glad you've liked using them! The eye cream sounds exactly what I need right now, and who doesn't need another lip balm to add to the collection? Love the pictures too :) xxx

  13. I have their 1 minute face mask - I think it is a vitamin C one. It came in a gift box from M&S which they gave me once because I spent so much money in there!(oops.) I've only used it once so far but I do like it. It's a brand that has pretty much escaped my attention till recently which is odd, because as you say a lot of people rave about it. x

  15. I don't think I've tried REN either, sounds amazing though! Especially the moisturiser, nothing worse than when it doesn't absorb in.
