- Degustabox: January'16...

I'm back with one of my favourite posts to create: the latest Degustabox! I'm sure I'm not alone in loving the surprise and mystery of monthly subscription boxes, along with the opportunity to discover new items. With the popularity of beauty boxes, Degustabox* is refreshing to the scene by being packed full of food & drink treats.

At just £12.99 (inc. delivery), it's a great way to explore different products you might otherwise bypass. There's usually 9-14 surprise items, most of which are new to the market.

As always, Degustabox have kindly provided me with a discount code to share with you: simply type '0IS9QN' when registering to get £6.00(!!!) off!

So let's see if the contents were impressive this time around...

Jordans Country Crisp, RRP: £2.69
Clarks Carob Fruit Syrup, RRP: £2.39

First up is this Jordans fruit & nut cereal. This, along with the other flavours, was my first breakfast choice during university, but more recently I've become more aware of its high sugar content and have avoided it. It's such a shame when things like this unnecessarily contain extra sugar as it'd still be super tasty without it.

Speaking of becoming more sugar-aware, I've been trying out alternatives. I haven't yet tried Carob fruit syrup, so this was a nice addition to the box. It's made by extracting the fruits from the Carob plant and is a great sweetening replacement. I think I'm going to save this for when I finally find time to do some baking.

Amoy Cooking Sauces, RRP: £1.79 (each)
Slim Noodles, RRP: £2.49

Amoy have created a new Taste of Asia range, including these convenient sauces. Coincidentally, I made a tasty thai green curry last week and despite loving making it from scratch, there's nothing better than having a cupboard back-up sfter a long day.

To go with these were some Slim Noodles. I find the concept of these weird as they arrive packaged in water, but this didn't effect their taste at all. Made from organic Konjac flour and oat fibre these have just 9 calories per 100g!

Finn Crisp, RRP: £1.20
Yushoi, RRP: £2.00

Next, I always enjoy welcoming a new item to my snack cupboard so was happy to see these Finn Crisps. This thin sourdough rye crispbread compliments a wide variety of toppings and is the perfect healthy snack.

Another healthy snack were these wonderful Yushoi Snapea rice sticks. This is probably the item that intrigued me the most this month, especially with their Soy & balsamic vinegar flavour, - yum!

Fit Fit Bars, RRP: £0.79 (each)
Conscious Chocolate, RRP: £3.00

Oh ok, another contender for most intriguing is these Fit Fit bars. I find the name of these a tad lame, but love how unique they are. They're basically mashed up dried fruit and nuts and are aimed to give you a boost when taken before carrying out some exercise. I had the apricot one and Rob had the fig & walnut version before we went on a run and really enjoyed trying them out!

Let's be honest, it's always good to see some chocolate included. And this bar is even better as it's raw, organic & dairy free! The texture of this is super smooth; almost a tad moussey! I received the Plain flavour, but there's also a darker version and chili hot!

Fentimans Rose Lemonade, RRP: £2.79
Coldpress Golden Delicious, RRP: £1.40

Lastly, it's time for drinks and first is probably the most Instagrammed bottle out there: Fentimans pink lemonade. I have to admit, I'm probably going to join the bandwagon and hoard this bottle too. I'm not sure if to keep this as a refreshing drink on it's own or incorporate it into some sort of cocktail. Decisions, decisions...

Speaking of cocktails, I did mix this Coldpress apple juice with some gin, which was di-vine!

Overall, I feel this box contains a great, balanced mix of snacks, cooking ingredients and drinks. My favourite discovery would have to be the Fit Fit Bars as I just find the idea of them unusual yet brilliant. They're perfect for popping into your bag for your packed lunch/afternoon snack or for taking on a hike/cycle. This box has impressed me more than the previous 'Healthy New Year' version - and funnily enough, seems to actually be healthier!

Good job Degustabox, I can't wait to see what's in store for next month!

What do you think of this Degustabox? Don't forget, you can receive your first box for just £6.99 using the discount code above!
