- Sparkle with Coast...

This post will mark my last for 2015, and I thought I'd go out with a bang by publishing an outfit post. Outfit posts remain my most read (and my own personal favourite on other blogs), so it seemed the perfect way to end another year of blogging.

I feel my style has changed a lot in 2015. Previously I was drawn to anything cutesy, and whilst I still have my moments, my style is definitely more adult now. Despite loving makeup, experimenting with different hairstyles and constantly painting my nails, I still wouldn't have described myself as a girly girl growing up, but these days the ladylike fashion trends are one I favour.

So I guess that leads us to the showstopper featured in this post: the Desire Maxi dress* from Coast. This is certainly a thing of beauty and possibly the most ladylike piece I've ever owned. You know those pieces where you instantly feel elegant and want to repeatedly swirl around until you feel dizzy? That.

As you can see, these photos were taken in the garden when I visited my family home over Christmas. As much as I've been trying to take outfit photos out and about in London recently, it felt so nice to rewind and take things back to how my blog used to be. Plus, ain't nobody got time to gallivant deeper into the countryside in the cold, misty air and knee-deep mud wearing a glam maxi dress and heels. Also, sorry about the blue hue on the images, but I guess that's Winter sky for you. Let's say it's atmospheric.

I tried my best not to twirl around too much when these photos were taken, but trust me when I say it was hard to resist. How stunning is the colour of this dress?! It's the perfect Winter berry shade for the party season we're now in middle of, plus who doesn't love sequins at this time of year?

The sequins do add a lot of weight and I did have to make sure I was standing upright due to the heaviness of this piece, but I'm so happy it's high quality and not flimsy material that'll easily snag. This also means it's super flattering and hugs all of the right places, with the slight gathering around the midriff adding an extra touch.

The slightly dipped back flaunts an elegant flash of flesh; a lovely balance with the high-neck and length of the dress. I decided to do a fairly neutral make up look, by creating a subtle smoky gold eye and berry lip to compliment the colour of the dress.

Coast really couldn't have done better with this piece and despite the hefty price tag (£350) *gulp*, I really do think it's worth it if you're looking for an occasion piece that has the wow factor.

I'm sat at my desk still wearing this dress as I type, and I really, really don't want to take it off. I'll be back in London for New Year's Eve, so I'm hoping I'll find the perfect occasion to wear this out...

What do you think of this dress? Let me know in the comments below and Happy New Year to each and every one of you!
