- House of Fraser: #MyStyleMyDress...

Wow, so I don't even remember when I last posted an outfit post - bad egg - but hopefully that will change from now on. I'm super excited to return, bringing with me news of one of House of Fraser's latest campaigns.

It's all about personal style and adding your own twist to an otherwise essential, basic piece. I'm definitely guilty of complimenting someone's outfit to then find the key piece is, well, kind of bland. They say accessories 'make' and are an extension of an outfit, and I couldn't agree more.

So when I was asked to style this grey Vero Moda swing dress* and apply #yourrules to it, I jumped at the chance to style it my way. I've previously mentioned here (sob at the change in weather) how I'm such a fan of the range of dresses at House of Fraser as there really are some affordable gems out there, and this one's no different costing just £20 (now £14).

I have to admit, I used to shy away from swing dresses. I used to think they drowned my frame and made me look like I was wearing a sack. And then I randomly picked one up on a whim and fell in love. They're just so timeless, so easy to throw on and perfect for taking through from day to night.

When it came to styling this grey number, I based it around my current favourite colour. Typically this would be blue or purple, but when asked at work the other day, (for the joys of excel categorizing - #rockandrolllife), I found myself answering dark red.

To me, this colour screams Winter cosiness and festivities. I continued the red theme with my scarf and decided the leopard print would provide a bit of fun to the outfit. To complete the look, I've been pretty much living in these burgundy chelsea boots I picked up from New Look last year, and who doesn't love a snuggly knit and Rimmel 107 lip?

Oh and then I discovered some red berries in my photo spot and knew it meant to be.

What do you think of this outfit? How would you style the dress?
