- Christmas: Finding Time to Relax...

Happy Christmas Eve Eve! I finish work for 2015 today and whilst I love my job, I can't wait to put my fluffy-socked-feet up for a few days. This year has been a manic one for me with big changes (for the better), so a few days home back in the countryside are just what I need to end the year. Full-time work, present buying, social events and exercising have been tricky to balance over the last month, so I definitely need a bit of time to empty my head. I'm just lucky I can return to my Mum's home cooking and not be head chef/host for the big day!

In the midst of the busy period, I was asked if I was interested in receiving a pamper basket* full of indulgent products. ERM, YES PLEZ!
Now, I had no idea what to expect, but I certainly wasn't expecting this to land on my doorstep...

I mean, literally, wow! I was so excited when opening each item; it certainly felt like Christmas came early! Over the following days I made sure I took time out to wind down and enjoy these products. More details on my me-time below...

BATH TIME...

When me and Rob were flat hunting, I turned down viewings of properties that had no bath. Ridiculous? Me?
No but seriously, as someone who loves bath products and relaxing so much, a bath was a must! When I discovered a Lush Frozen Let it Go bath bomb, along with the Sanctuary Little Tin of Treats, I was definitely a happy bunny. I haven't got round to trying this year's Lush festive collection (le sigh) yet, so the bath bomb filled the Lush-shaped gap I was experiencing. Made with grapefruit and rose oils, it smelt divine and also left a slight festive glimmer on the skin. As for the body wash set, how cute is the tin?! And I love the included rose-shaped loofah.

HAIR, SKIN & NAILS...

Cleansed and refreshed, it's time to continue the pampering process. Included in the basket was the Babyliss Elegance 2100 Dryer and Pro 235 Elegance Styler which arrives in this gorgeous plum colour. Is it normal to love hair appliances this much? Possibly not, but these not only look the part, they're performance is pretty impressive too. Babyliss really do have affordable, quality hair tools nailed.

I have dry skin all year round so in Winter I'm pretty much on reptile level. This Boots Oil of Evening Primrose Moisturising Cream is super rich and the perfect nighttime moisturiser. With it being party season, my nails have been suffering with dark nail shades, so I've been trying my best to keep them up to scratch with this Boots Mini Manicure Set - such a gorgeous croc effect case!

AND, RELAX... The latest magazines to catch up on celeb goss and upcoming trends and celeb, board games with friends & family and tasty treats; I'm definitely in my happy place right now. I remember India writing in one of her blog posts that 'salted caramel is the copper of the food world', and, after having this Whittard Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate, I can definitely confirm that - yum!

How are you relaxing this Christmas? I really hope you enjoyed this post, and have a lovely Christmas each & every one of you!

  1. I wouldn't say Monopoly is ever relaxing (coming from a competitive household) but the rest of the box is amazing! I didn't even realise Lush did a Frozen bath bomb, I am going to HAVE to try that out as soon as I can! I am not off until Christmas Eve evening (boo) then we have a lot of family to see. I am well and truly looking forward to putting my feet up on 28th- I will finally be able to chill then!!! Have a lovely Christmas x

nevertheless everything else is spot on. I love nothing more than to have a Lush bath and do my nails to relax. x

  19. I don't blame you for turning out properties that doesn't have a bath, I would too. I never understood why have a bathtub is important back when I was in Malaysia but I can't be without one now.

  20. Monopoly is definitely not relaxing. Someone always ends up yelling and throwing the board across the room. Hilarious!
