- New In: Haircare...

haircare products

As you can probably imagine, some of my most used hair products have changed since my last post here. As well as experimenting more with skincare, I've also been making an effort to treat my hair to some TLC. I've been lucky enough to get my hands on some new products recently, so I thought I'd post about my updated collection.

Due to being super thick, and therefore heavy, my hair easily becomes flat at the roots. As well as this, it's prone to frizz. Therefore, I seek out products which promise to add volume and fight frizz, and boy, do I love all of the products featured in this post. If there's ever a time where I wish smell-o-vision smell-o-laptop(?) was a thing, it would be now! Some of these smell like pure heaven, so much so that I don't even bother with wearing perfume a lot of the time!

sexy hair dry shampoo
Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo, ~£11.60*

I find that dry shampoo is either good at ridding grease or providing volume, and very rarely does both. This one definitely ticks the latter box. It provides the perfect boost to my roots and I've especially been enjoying it when creating an up-do. It's also worth noting that it contains UV protection, which is definitely an extra bonus. Admittedly, it's not brilliant at actually cleansing hair and seems slightly pricey, but if it's volume you're after, give this a whirl!

sexy hair full bloom hair spray
Big Sexy Hair Full Bloom, ~£12.90* (larger size)

This spray claims to refreshen hair and provide long-lasting thickness. Despite already having thick hair I've been loving this, as it really creates body and adds an extra oomph to my hair. Not only this, but it has a lovely floral scent, contains heat protection and combats frizz!

sexy hair Soy Renewal Crème Oil
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Crème Oil, ~£14.85* (larger size)

This has got to be one of my favourite hair products. Ever. It protects hair and claims to speed up the drying process. Now, whenever I read this I'm always a bit sceptical with my beastly mane, but I truly noticed a difference with this! It also makes hair a lot more manageable and makes it smoother and shinier. The fragrance is honestly dreamy - so clean, fresh and inviting. My hair feels so much softer and using this feels super luxurious! A definite repurchase when this smaller tube is empty!

Revlon UNIQ ONE 10-in-1 COCONUT Fragrance Hair treatment
Revlon Professional Uniq One All In One Coconut Hair Treatment, £14.75*

Another current favourite is this Coconut spray, which I use by spraying just 3 squirts to towel dried hair before blow drying. This makes 10 bold claims, but I totally agree with all of them - protection, moisture, frizz control, shine; you name it - think of it as magic for your hair! The fragrance is also divine. Despite containing a hint of vanilla, the overall coconut scent is thankfully refreshing and fresh, rather than sickly-sweet. One of my hair essentials!

revlon professional Orofluido Asia Zen Control Elixir
Revlon Professional Revlon Orofluido Asia Zen Control Elixir (sold in salons only, I think), £8.95

Eek, am I allowed to class this as another favourite? Good, because I am! Think of this as polish for hair. I use the tiniest amount on dry, styled hair and it really does make a difference. It's thankfully lightweight, anti-humidity and nourishes hair thoroughly. And yep, you've guessed it, the scent is gorgeous. It's sweet, floral, fruity - perfect!

clear invisibobble
Magi:bobble Clear, £2.95* (pack of 5)

Lastly, I couldn't not include this Invisibobble. I've seen them knocking around for a while now but have never bothered to get one, but it has seriously changed my life. Strong claim, but it has honestly been so useful when I'm exercising. I often go running and bouldering, and having the mass of hair that I have, I was constantly redoing my ponytail. Thankfully with this, I don't have to!

I have no idea who invented these, I mean c'mon, it looks like a piece of telephone wire, but they are a genius! It grips hair firmly without leaving the dreaded kink. Once taken out, I wondered how much they'd stretch, but after a few minutes it returns to the original size - amazing!

  8. I do like the sound of that dry shampoo! Sometimes they can be too drying and if it's just for volume hopefully it wouldn't be too drying.

  10. The All in one Coconut treatment sounds delightful, It is ticking all my boxes if it adds shine and gets rid of frizz! I am disappointed with many dry shampoos like you mentioned they either add volume or reduce grease! BUT MOST NEVER DO BOTHHH AHHH! The struggles. Loved this post Karen <33333 :)

  20. I've used my bobble and I'm not so happy with it :( It wears out very quickly stretching enourmously and it doesn't keep my hair tight enough. I have to renew it a few times, maybe my hair is to heavy or thick, I don't know. Looking forward to trying the Sexy Hair porducts though. They are next in line in my product pile :)
