The Search is Over: Rimmel Kate Nude Collection...

As a beauty blogger, I'm ashamed to admit a lot of new product releases don't excite me. This is due to a number of reasons: the products are overhyped, my bank balance is already in tears begging me to stop, and I have a whole heap of beauty bits to use up.

However, one recent release I knew I had to get my hands on is the Rimmel Kate Nude collection.

After searching high and low in my local Boots to find all shades were out of stock, I trundled to various different stores every day after work for a week. Yep, every day. I was that desperate I pretty much ended up doing a tube crawl. I don't even want to tot up the minutes I spent on my search. With still no luck and in a bit of a huff and puff (#firstworldproblems), I headed to the place where I occasionally have a rant. Twitter.

The next day fellow blogger Caz, who has been a good friend for a while now, was wandering around London, saw the lipstick gold in stock and remembered seeing my tweet. She asked which shades I was yearning for and within minutes she sent a photo holding them. WHAT.A.BABE.

True friends remember the little things - although I guess my lipstick obsession is quite a big thing ;).

After seeing various swatches on beauty blogs (yay for blogging), I knew I wanted shades 45 & 48. The complete collection consists of 5 lipstick shades and 4 nail polish shades, each designed to provide the perfect nude for a targeted skin tone.

Shade 45 is a gorgeous nude pink aimed towards those with cool-toned, fair skin - perfect for us paler ones. It really is the perfect pink to perk up your complexion and add a little something. Despite shade 48 looking as if it would suit those with a more olive skin tone, something immediately drew me towards it. 2015 seems to be the year where I've got into wearing nudes and I wanted to add something completely new to my collection. Therefore, I took the plunge with this deeper shade and am so glad I did. Absolutely no regrets!

The scent of these lipsticks isn't everyone's cup of tea but I personally love it, as the powdery floral smell reminds me of my grandma. I wasn't surprised by how much I love the formula of these as I'm a big fan of older Kate Moss lipsticks, especially 107 (the famous blue-toned red) and 101 (an everyday neutral pink). Lastly, I wanted to mention how much I adore the packaging of this new collection; the colour is perfect for representing how chic and sophisticated these lipsticks are.

What do you think of this new collection? Have you got any shades?

  18. I am really craving this collection.
I want 45 and have done ever since i set eyes on it, it is just the colour I imagine as the perfect lipstick. :)
I think I have similar ones to 48 so I'd give that a miss. Another lipstick I have been craving in 38 from the original kate moss collection (in the black packaging). By the way Karen, I love the first picture, it is so different to all those other pictures you see other bloggers take of lipsticks.
