- BonjourHK: New Asian Beauty Products...

asian beauty haul

Just incase you haven't read my previous raving about Asian beauty products, here's some more! I love how these amazing, innovative products are increasingly becoming accessible to us overseas. If you haven't heard of BonjourHK before, it stocks thousands(!) of beauty gems and offers FREE shipping!

I was recently sent a bundle of new products which are very popular over in Hong Kong at the moment. After spending some time experimenting and playing around with them, I'm ready to share my experiences on each one with you.

Berrisom Animal Mask Series Set, £6.75*
berrisom asian animal sheet face masks

Hands up who saw my Instagram shot where I dragged Rob into trying out a sheet mask. Well I say dragged, but really he happily participated (top boyfriend points). After seeing this, the lovely Elaine took things to the next level by sending over this set of Animal sheet masks.

The box contains 7 sheet masks each featuring a different animal with different skincare properties. This would be a great idea for a girly sleepover, as there's bound to be a mask suited to everyone. The animal designs are not only great fun, but such good quality - they look like professional face paintings when on.

Like most sheet masks, these feel super cool and refreshing when applied - perfect for this current heatwave. Once removed (after 15-25 minutes), our skin did feel a little sticky. However, when we woke up it felt a lot more soft and supple. Therefore, I'd definitely recommend using these just before bed so the product can work it's magic overnight.

And yep, I posted a second edition Instagram here. Hello Monkey & Tiger...

Dr. Bauer Magic Platinum Beauty Roller, £32.80*

Another further skincare item I was sent is this beauty roller. I find this sort of tool really interesting and have seen similar face roller/massagers around in a lot of stores at the moment. It acts as a sort of 'iron' on the skin, aiming to restore firmness and elasticity, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

The diagram shows the recommended directions and movements. The tool features two different ends. The platinum roller (padded end) is used to enhance face contours while the ceramic alloy coolant roller (cylindrical end) provides a cooling effect to relax the facial muscles.

Whilst I haven't noticed any dramatic effects, I've really been enjoying using this as it feels nice and relaxing. Overall, a great addition to my skincare routine!

Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Frame & Curl Mascara, £8.85*

Now time for the beauty bits! I'll be honest, when I first saw this mascara I just thought it was another to add to the stash. Wrong. This stuff is AMAZING!

I've tried my best to photograph the different features of the brush. Firstly, and most noticeably, it's curved which is a shape I've grown to love recently. Furthermore, there's a comb applicator along the top, as well as the typical bristles below. Altogether these functions result in added volume, length and holds an amazing curl. I'm not even exaggerating - take a look at the before and after!

Another positive is that this stuff doesn't smudge at all. However, as time went on this became a bit of a pain: this stuff does not come off easily! In fact, it was an sbolute pain to remove. Think stubbornness on the level of the Benefit They're Real x10. After placing a cotton pad of my beloved Bioderma over my eyelid for a few minutes and then wiping, it didn't move one bit! I tried 3 different cleansers and still nothing. In the end, I had to physically pick it off, which wasn't a fun experience and probably wasn't great for the condition of my lashes.

If you're after a long lasting mascara, particularly over the Summer months if you're around beaches, pools and hot weather, then this is definitely for you. For me, the results are amazing, but it's one I'll only be using for special occasions.

Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack in Sexy Red, £5.80*

Lastly, is this lip tint in shade 'Sexy Red'. I was really intrigued by this as it's not your typical lip gloss. Instead, it's more of a lip 'tatoo'.

When first applying this, I was pretty horrified that the product looked close to black, plus the texture was super gloopy. However, I went along with it and continued application. You have to play about to make application work as the formula is really sticky and you do have to act fast before it dries.

You then wipe a clean tissue across your lips to remove the product. I was pleased to see it removes really easily and gently - it sort of just peels off. I have dry lips and to my amazement, the product didn't cling to any dry patches.

Despite the tar-like formula and colour, the result was a gorgeous pink-red lip stain. If you love a hint of colour to last all day, rather than regularly reapplying, then this is for you! I'm so pleased with this and I'm very tempted by the other 7 shades!

Overall, I had great fun experimenting with these four products. The animal masks stand out for me as not only are they skincare gems, they also provide fun and are a great addition to your typical sheet mask!
