- Outfit of the Day ft. Gracie Blue...
As a blogger, certain brands stand out to me. Those who are highly active on social media, those who personalise emails, and those who make an effort to make your partnership ongoing. One of those, for me, is Gracie Blue. Gracie Blue is a new online fashion boutique based in Jersey, and after just a quick peek on their website, I knew immediately it was right up my street. Their style is one of my favourites: sleek, modern pieces with an underlying beach theme. I really like how personal their site feels, with the pieces shown on in context and the fact they promote natural beauty. After having a lovely conversation with the founder, Emma, I was ridiculously excited for my surprise package to arrive! I had no idea what I was receiving but I wasn't worried at all, as I knew every piece suited my taste. And let's just say, Emma couldn't have got it more right! Packaged up with clear care and love (look at that ribbon * inset heart eye emoji*) was their Navy Lace Playsuit* and Octopus Necklace*. My favourite colour to wear is blue as I feel it suits me best, and this dark shade reminds me of deep sea waves and transforms me to a different place. As well as getting the colour bang on, one of my favourite textures is lace. Consider two boxes well and truly ticked and a very happy Karen. With the short (but not too short) length, plunging neckline and lace-trim detail, this would be the perfect piece for a classic elegant evening look. However, I don't seem to have that many events to glam up for these days, and you can see what it looks like worn alone on the models on the website, so I opted to style it for a daytime look and show you how versatile it is. As you can see, I started off my look by layering a white cropped tee underneath. I really like how the ribbed texture looks against the lace and like the different element it adds. I then added tights and burgundy heeled Chelsea boots for a comfortable yet on-trend outfit. The playsuit fits amazingly and I really like that the straps are adjustable. Finishing my outfit is the octopus necklace. I really like that this piece isn't the typical glaring metal finish, and instead has a more distressed look about it. If you saw my nautical themed wish list a few weeks ago (here), you'll know my love for anything maritime themed! And long may it remain! What do you think of this outfit?
