- Superdrug Clearly Youthful Cream Cleanser...
After a very welcome spell of clearer skin and feeling 100% happy with my complexion, some evil hormones decided to sh!t on my chips. Good and proper. Anyone else find that once they've reached a happy point with their skin, another mountain range decides to form and erupt (grim)? In all honesty, I'm nowhere near as bothered by blemishes as I used to be. I've accepted that they come and go and it's all part of life blah di da da. However, I still like to make a conscious effort to look after my skin and attempt to keep the beasts at bay and speed up the fading of scars. I love skincare, but the vast range of products available can be pretty overwhelming. Not only should we know the types of products used in an everyday routine (morning & night) and the ones not to overuse, but we also have to find out what works for us individually. Our skin type is unique to us and what might work for you, could have the opposite effect on someone else. Therefore, as this post is about a skincare product that seems to be working for me, I feel it's necessary to say I have dry/dehydrated/sensitive skin, and my problem area is my chinny chin chin. I'm still experimenting with skincare, and whilst I do think it's something worth investing in, I also feel there's some underrated products available in drugstores. I've said before on my blog how much I love the Superdrug Vitamin E range, and now I have another gem to share with you: the Cream Cleanser from the new Clearly Youthful range, costing just £5.99 (currently on offer for £2.98 - *happy dance*). This product claims to be an exfoliating cream cleanser that decongests pores, resurfaces the skin and results in a radiant complexion. Previously, I'd shy away from anything that read 'exfoliating', as I've had bad experiences where my sensitive skin has been sandpapered down and I've been left feeling like a snake that's shed it's skin (attractive, I know). However, there seems to have been a rise in exfoliators that don't contain mystery chunks and are in fact gentle, such as this one. As well as being gentle, another thing I love about this product is that no water is needed. Due to this, I tend to remove any makeup with a different cleanser beforehand; it's amazing on no makeup days as it's so quick and simple to use. You simply dot a bit onto a cotton pad, gently dab it across parts your face, massage it in using the pad and then wipe away any excess. The formula is a rich yet light cream, and I'm holding it responsible for helping my 'angry' skin. I wake up to a brighter complexion and my skin feels a lot smoother. Apparently it has all day shine control so if you have oilier skin, I'd also give this a whirl too as I actually don't see why it wouldn't work for you. A skincare saviour for under £3?! Seems all too good to be true, right? Well, there is a slight downside. The scent. If you're put off by overpowering scents in products then this isn't for you. At first, I wasn't sure what to think. I didn't like it but I didn't hate it either, so I just rolled with it. I then got into bed where my boyfriend immediately asked, "why does your face smell like cabbage?". And on that note, I'll leave it up to you to weigh up the pros and cons. Have you tried this Cream Cleanser or any other products from the Superdrug Clearly Youthful range?
