- Joshua James Jewellery: Pandora Bracelet + Charm...

I love reading blogs as much as I love writing one, and I always try to make the effort to keep up to date with my favourites. I don't know if it's just me who has noticed, but a recurring theme I've seen in the blogosphere is how intimidating makeup counters can be, or bad/negative experiences that have happened there. Personally, I feel like the atmosphere and environment in jewellery stores can be similar, leading a lot of us to head online and eye up wanted pieces in our PJs with the company of maltesers. There is an abundance of amazing websites out there that stock popular jewellery brands, and one that's newly been introduced to me is Joshua James Jewellery.

Pandora

I was really surprised to see just how many brands I'm aware of are available to shop via this website, including: Fossil, Thomas Sabo, Guess, Swarovski, Links of London, Michael Kors and many more! When they kindly got in touch and asked me to pick out an item, I definitely lost a large chunk of time browsing the wide selection of pieces on offer.

Eventually, I decided on a Pandora bracelet and charm. Now for those of you that know me, this may seem a bit of an odd choice. Let me explain.

Back when I was 16-18, there was a massive hype around Pandora bracelets. They seemed to be another pointless addition that increased your 'coolness' ranking on the playground, and having the most or the 'best' charms seemed to be a competition. And, to be honest, I just didn't get it. If anything, I viewed them as kind of tacky - eek, please don't be offended if you had/have one like this, it's just my personal taste/fussiness.

However, now that stage is over and I've entered adulthood, I've been wanting my style to correspond with this. These days, I seem to know what I want when it comes to jewellery pieces: elegance, delicacy and sleekness. Therefore, I challenged myself to style a Pandora bracelet in a minimalist and sophisticated way, to show that they really do cater for all ages.

I chose the popular Pandora Silver Bracelet, £55* with the silver fastening. If you're feeling really spendy, there's also one with a gold fastening - how amazing would a rose gold one be?! I followed the suggestion of measuring your wrist and then adding 1-2cm on to account for the charms and for your wrist to adjust, and I'm supper happy that it fits perfectly.

As for choosing a charm, I knew I didn't want one that reminded me of the school day tackiness. I noticed that Joshua James Jewellery stock the Murano Glass Charms, and this is where I fell head over heels. The intricacy of each design is just amazing. I was close to choosing both the 'Wild Flowers' and 'Tribute' charms, but in the end decided on this gorgeous Pink Cherry Blossom one, £30*.

If you read my blog regularly or follow me on social media, this won't be a huge shock as I've declared my love numerous times for the blossom blooming this year. So much so, that I've had to make a conscious effort not to plague my Instagram feed with too many similar images. The beautiful design with the splash of pastel pink matches perfectly with what I was after. As you can see in the images below, I painted my nails to match and created a natural, Spring makeup look with a shimmery pink lid and neutral pink lips.

I'm so pleased with this bracelet and the simple yet stunning cherry blossom charm. If you're like me, then definitely don't be put off by the 'childhood craze' as Pandora pieces really are diverse. Additionally, if you're already lucky enough to own a Pandora bracelet, the Murano Glass collection is definitely worth swooning over!

Consider me a Pandora convert!

  1. Such a pretty charm! I was kind of like you and didn't buy into the pandora craze but I now have one of the black bracelets - it's got nothing on it yet because I decided I preferred it plain but yours looks really nice and delicate with just one charm so maybe I should investigate!

  2. Gorgeous charm! I was the same as you to be honest and actually hated Pandora when they first became big - it was just tacky and people just have bracelets full of charms. But like you my tastes changed and I eventually got one for my 24th birthday! I currently have 8 charms on at the moment and I think that's enough for me :)

  3. That charm is beautiful! I don't have a Pandora bracelet myself. But I know if I got one, I would be obsessing over the charms - I'd want all of them.

  5. I was exactly the same! I always thought they were a bit cliche and I wasn't that bothered by them. Recently though I have been looking at the star sig beads and I think they are really pretty. This rose blossom charm is gorgeous! It looks delicate and not too fussy :)

  11. If I'm honest, I've always had the same impression of Pandora bracelets. Though they didn't exist when I was in school, we we used to have those big gold ragdolls and big hoop earrings when I was younger. It was the start of the chav era!

  19. I remember the mega hype a few years ago! I never wanted to get one either just because "everyone else had one". This does actually look really pretty with just one bead on it, i prefer this to one totally loaded one definitely x

  25. I agree with you on the makeup counter experience, I've had good and downright stupid and bad experience with Mac counter the most. Not sure about jewellery counters though, I'm not a huge fan of it but I also agree with your opinion on Pandora bracelet. It's overhyped and yes, a supposedly status of coolness which unfortunately my mum and a bunch of her friends are all over it. Can you imagine a bunch of 50plus almost 60 years old ladies trying to outdo each other with their bracelets? LOL!

  32. I've never been a Pandora bracelet fan but I really like what you've chosen. I am a traditional charm bracelet fan and I think Pandora's don't look like anything but the colour beads are really pretty and I love the one you have chosen. I get what you mean about being scared to go up the counter. The Thomas Sabbo store in Birmingham is good and friendly though.
