- Makeup Revolution: I ♡ Makeup 'I Heart Chocolate' & 'Death By Chocolate' Palettes

Continuing on from my post about the Iconic 1 & 2 palettes (here), today's post will feature the hugely popular I ♡ Makeup Chocolate palettes by Makeup Revolution. With the Iconic palettes being the perfect cheaper alternative to the Lorac Pro eye shadows, these chocolate palettes are the budget-friendly version to the Too Faced chocolate bar palettes.

The I Heart Chocolate and Death by Chocolate palettes look good enough to eat in their half-melted chocolate bar design. Costing just £7.99 each and with their wide range of wearable shades, they certainly live up to expectations.

I HEART CHOCOLATE:

The first row of swatches correspond to the top row of shades and then the bottom line are the following two rows. This palette contains a stunning mix of matte and shimmer shadows. I really like how a larger highlighting shade is included in both a matte and shimmer finish. This really does cover all bases, and if you went away travelling with just this palette, you'd be sorted.

Once again, the shade names don't disappoint. Favourites of mine have to be: Unforgivable, Chocolate Love and Piece Me Together. This palette looks perfect when aiming for a warm, neutral smoky eye.

DEATH BY CHOCOLATE:

The swatches are laid out in the similar format as above. It has to be said, I was slightly gutted to see the presence of those pesky sponge applicators, rather than the Makeup Revolution 1989 brush they include in their Iconic Pro palettes. That being said, this palette is another absolute beauty!

The shades available are perhaps a little more 'earthy' and cooler than those in the I Heart Chocolate edition. The bottom left (in the palette) shades look amazing and would be gorgeous when creating a bold metallic eye. Personally, I think I prefer this range of shades (only slightly) when compared to the I Heart Chocolate. Favourite shade names include: One More Bar, White Light and Love You to Death.

What do you think of these palettes? Do you own either/both?

Again, I know arm swatches aren't the best, but they at least give some impression of the shades, texture and level of pigmentation. You'll most likely see me using both these palettes in future posts and/or on my social media.

  1. These are so pretty. I own a good few palettes but shadow is just one thing I'm terrible at. So much so I'm getting a lesson from Benefit next time I go to get my brows done lol.

  26. Both beautiful palettes, which, as you point out are alternative offerings to the Too Faced versions. I often wonder with all the dupes these days whether it is worth purchasing the original. Of course, I always do, lol. :-)
