Oh loafers, how I love thee. There was a sudden craze over this flat, versatile style of shoe last Summer, and this year seems to be no different. In fact, I've noticed online stores have made way to loafers and have dedicated a separate category for them. Despite my huge love for loafers, I still haven't got round to purchasing a pair (I know, I know: bad egg). So I took to the internet, browsed high and low, and have come up with a shortlist.
Loafers tick both the 'stylish' and 'comfortable' boxes. I love that they're a smart alternative to heels, yet can be worn casually as well. Slight modifications, such as a thicker sole (#5) or featuring a wooden texture (#2 & #4) can add to a more casual look.
Whilst being a huge fan of those styles, I think my heart is set on smarter versions. A thinner sole, pointed toe and monochrome = right up my street, making #1 from Jones Bootmaker* up there in my favourites. Another favourite have to be the grey River Island pair (#3). Snakeskin, metallics, tassles, fringing - the detailing & textures when it comes to loafers are endless!
