If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll probably remember my BonjourHK Asian beauty haul here. This haul featured the VOV Castledew sparkling shadow shown above; I briefly mentioned two different looks you can create with it so for today's post, I thought I'd show you in more detail.
This tiny pot of shimmer has a rounded sponge applicator, making it perfect for precise application around the eye area. As mentioned in my haul post, I have shade #2 which has a slight golden sheen to it. I'm not usually a massive fan of shimmery make-up looks, but I've surprisingly been loving this this little gem. I really like that there's just specks of shimmer rather than chunky bits of glitter. Below are the two styles I've been creating with it.
ONE: For a more natural look, I've been dabbing a tiny bit of the shimmer to the inner corners. It's well known that highlighting this area brightens up the eyes and gives the illusion that eyes are wider apart. I then simply sweep through a layer of mascara.
TWO: For a different look, yet still fairly natural, I apply a single layer of the shimmer to the entire lid. For a bolder look, you could use a golden eyeshadow shade as a base and apply the shimmer as a second layer. To complete off this look, I use a dark gold eyeshadow along the lower lash line, apply a feline flick, and finish with mascara.
