- Everyday Makeup...

For today's post, I thought I'd show you my current go-to makeup items. I've been going for the minimal look lately and, along with abandoning everyday feline flicks, I've recently ditched some base products. I feel it's best to let skin breath as much as possible and I hate the feeling of having the same layer of foundation on for hours.

This doesn't mean I don't have any imperfections; I'm still an avid user of the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. I do think I ought to branch out towards other concealers as this has been my main choice for years now, but why change something that works well for you? I then use the Soap & Glory Brow Archery to fill in my brows; I really need to get my hands on their similar brow product with the spoolie on one end.

Next, I've been reaching for my Urban Decay Naked basics palette a lot recently as it has the perfect neutral shades and I love the buttery formula. I've been using 'Walk of Shame' over the lid with 'Naked 2' blended into the crease. I then apply 'Faint' along the lower lash line and 'Venus' to highlight my brow bones and inner-corners. To complete my eye makeup, I curl my lashes with Shu Uemura* curlers and apply Benefit's Roller Lash mascara. Like most beauty bloggers, I got this free sample with Elle magazine. I prefer not to get drawn into hype around a new release and tend to remain skeptical until I've tried things for myself but wow, this mascara is seriously amazing! The thinness of the wand means you can get right to the root of lashes and the formula really does hold a curl for hours. Kudos to Benefit.

To add some colour to my complexion I apply The Body Shop's Honey bronzer lightly to my cheekbones, followed by my much loved Revlon Powder blush to the apples of my cheeks. To finish off my everyday look, I've been going for a soft pink lip by using the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Eastend Snob for definition, teamed with Rimmel's Kate Matte Lipstick in 101.

What do you think of my everyday look? Do you use any of these products on a daily basis?

  5. Gorgeous! I'm using the Archery & Roller Lash everyday at the moment as well :) I need the Naked Basics for this exact purpose haha - it looks so perfect to grab when I'm quickly getting ready in the morning! I always get too indecisive with bigger palettes and take longer with my eye makeup.

  17. Your everyday look is fabulous, girl! The SU eyelash curler is also one of my favourites. And the Honey Bronzer from the Body Shop is still on my list of things to try. I recently got a sample of the Benefit Mascara as well. Not in the Elle Magazine like you guys in the UK but it came as a GWP with a Sephora order. :-)

  22. Omg you have gorgeous skin, I think this minimalistic make up look is really beautiful on you! If you can get away without wearing foundation it's great as I know what you mean about letting the skin breath.

I have quite oily skin so if i'm going minimalistic I tend to also use a Rimmel powder over the top just to reduce the shine - can you recommend any other non foundation products for this sort of thing?

    1. Thanks for commenting Gabriella! :) Have you tried a mattifying primer? I know it may seem to be another base product, but when used alone it's lighter than foundation & powder etc and controls oil - Pixi do a good matte one :) x

  26. You look fab. I'm a bit like you when it comes to the whole 'hype' around a product release. I'm actually still holding off on Roller Lash but would love to know how different it is to 'They're Real'. Easier to remove maybe? Haha.
