- City & Country...

I've been really excited to publish this post as it's my first collab with a fellow blogger! The lovely Serene and I teamed up and decided on a 'City & Country' theme to show you outfits in different settings. As you can probably guess from my images in the past and the ones to follow in this post, I've created a look for the country, whilst Serene has created one for the city here. So, whether you live in an urban or rural surrounding, we hope together we provide you with some inspiration!

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen that I went on a long countryside walk the other day, followed by a scrummy pub lunch. I decided to take this opportunity to take some photos, and even though no snow had fallen for almost a week, I was surprised to find it was knee deep in places! It always amazes me how much longer the snow lingers in the countryside without constant traffic and people trawling through it.

Parka: ASOS
Top: H&M
Scarf: H&M
Trousers: Zara
Boots: River Island

Snowy walks in the country call for a warm, cosy & casual outfit. I chose to wear my warmest coat; I snapped this parka up from ASOS in their Summer sale and love the big furry hood! Underneath, I wore a long sleeved striped top from H&M. I'm a huge fan of stripes and like how this black and beige top is something a little different from the usual navy/white nautical combo. Currently on sale for £9.99 (dammit I paid full price - #firstworldproblems) are these chocolate brown skinny trousers from Zara. I love the side and ankle zip detailing on these and I think they're perfect if you're wanting to stray away from the typical black/blue shades. As there was snow and I wanted to be comfortable during my walk, I chose to wear these 'distressed' boots from River Island. These boots are ancient (well, almost 5 years), but I still love them and their quirky vertical zip.

Khaki, beige, brown, zip detailing & 'distressed' boots - I seem to unintentionally be going for the 'military' trend that seems to be making a comeback here.

Random fact: The image above of the stone circle monument is the 'Nine Ladies Stone Circle', which is from the Bronze Ages. Apparently they represent nine ladies turned to stone for dancing on a Sunday and was a place for ceremonies - just thought I'd share that incase you're into that sort of thing.

Let me know what you think of this countryside outfit in the comments below & don't forget to check out Serene's gorgeous city look here!

  21. Great outfit choice, I love how chunky that scarf is too, I need more like that in my wardrobe. I feel your pain when you buy something full price for it to end up in the sale... probably why I've become so stingy over the years haha!
