HAPPY NEW YEAR!
In my recent post on the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hour eyeshadow in Metallic Pomegranate (here), I mentioned the 3 for 2 offer on Maybelline beauty bits currently in Boots and Superdrug. After reading a lot about the recent release of their Color Drama Lipsticks, I decided to go and check them out. From the 10 or so shades available, these were the only 2 that stood out to me for this time of year.
Red Essential is a stunning festive red and although having a matte finish, glides on perfectly. The shade is spot on as it's a blue-toned red which I think looks lovely on every skin tone, particularly us paler ones. It's quickly become a firm favourite of mine! Berry Much is a gorgeous purpley shade, however, it applied a lot less bold than I expected. I personally wouldn't have minded if it was a tad darker, but I am still a fan. This shade seems to have a slight sheen finish to it and whilst it's by no means 'glossy', it is definitely less matte than Red Essential.
In my opinion, these Color Drama lipsticks deserve the hype they've been receiving. The kohl crayons glide on with precision, have a creamy texture, feel hydrating on the lips and are impressively long lasting! The crayons themselves do feel really lightweight, so just be careful they don't manage to snap in your make-up bag!
Whilst I've not tried the NARs lip crayons myself, I've heard these are a pretty decent dupe and costing just £4.99 each, you can't really go wrong!
