- Vita Liberata: NKD SKN Tinted Tan Mousse...

Let me start off this post with a short background story. I've only ever used fake tan once or twice before and that was years ago now. My conclusion: I HATED it. I'm pale. Ghostly pale. So pale I'm almost invisible. I accepted it a long time ago and am happy with it. I'd much rather be that way than add another task to my get ready routine and walk around looking like a satsuma smelling of that mouldy biscuit smell.

That's how I had previously viewed fake tan. Friends of mine still tell me on a regular basis that there's a lot more products out there these days and insisted they don't have that awful scent, nor result in a bright orange mess.

So when Vita Liberata contacted me inviting me to try out something from their new NKD SKN Luxe Tanning collection, I paused for a few seconds and thought I may as well see if my friends are right! A few days later, I was sent the Tinted Tan Mousse (there's also a Tinted Tan Liquid and Matte Wash Off Instant Tan available) and an application mitt which I had never used before!

Tinted Tan Mousse in Medium, £14.95*
Tanning Mitt, £4.00*

I still can't get over how easy this was to apply. The mousse was mess-free and sank into skin rapidly without needing to wait around for it to absorb. I only applied a light layer but the tan worked instantly and most importantly, wasn't orange and didn't smell! In fact, this product doesn't seem to have a scent at all! At first, I was worried it looked a bit too green(?), but this soon developed into a lovely bronzed shade which lasted for a good few days and faded evenly!

This NKD SKN mousse has drastically changed my strong views on fake tan. It costs £14.95 which is great as I honestly can't fault this product and the can will last for ages! Even better is that I have a 45%, I repeat, FORTY-FIVE PERCENT, discount code for you all. Simply type 'SUNRISE45' at the checkout (expires 25th November) and treat yourself to delicately bronzed skin during party season!

Is fake tan a yay or a nay for you? Have you tried out this product?

In other news, it's time for the UK Blog Awards 2015 - I'd be absolutely over the moon if you could spare a second to vote for me!

  1. I received this in my goodie bag at the event and I was honestly thinking of giving it away as I am like you never used fake tan and pretty afraid to use it incase it turns out disastrous. I might give it a try now after reading how easy you found it and how lovely & natural it looks on you x

  6. I used to hate fake tan as well until I discovered it the mousse formula! I still rock my pale skin most of the time but it's nice to have a good option for special events. I'll definitely look into this one! xx

  10. They gave away some of their products at the Bloggers Love hub, so I've heard of them! I'm a sun spoilt girl and I'm used to long, warm sunny summers in Germany. I tan very quickly and go barely pale in winter, so no need of fake tan really.

I'm glad the mousse was easy to apply and the results look very natural, too!

  11. I don't use face tan, I'm not overly concerned about looking brown! I know some people who use it all the time though, I find it quite the effort to apply!

  12. I haven't used fake tan in a long time, but I do quite like the thought of using it in the summer months, especially since I can never seem to get a decent tan myself! I've never come across a tan that doesn't smell so I'm intrigued by this one now lol. Thanks for sharing. Danielle x

  14. Fake tans definitely have come such a long way! I rarely use them, last time I waited so long between uses the whole foam was Hulk green haha. Something to do with the way it oxidises? Glad you found one you're happy with :)

  22. Nowadays I find fake tan such a chore but, at one stage, my life revolved around exfoliating and tanning like clockwork. This looks so natural and fresh, I'll have to take advantage of that discount! Voted, good luck! :) xx

  25. Great review! The colour looks lovely on you! And quite natural. I'm also scared of fake tanning products. I've only tried the gradual tanning moisturisers. That's as far as I'd go. Like Alina, I got one of these in a goody bag at an event and was scared of trying it. But now I will give it a go without hesitation. Love the fact it doesn't have a scent to it. :) x

  26. I use mousse fake tan and love it! I've tried this brand but it was the instant liquid version which i wasn't too keen on. I bet the mousse version is miles better, i find it blends a little more even :)
