- My Everyday Makeup Brushes...

Today I thought I'd show you the brushes I use on a regular basis. You'll notice straight away that they're a combination of the Real Techniques Core collection and the Spectrum Limited edition set. I'd also like to stress the importance of regularly cleaning your brushes with a gentle shampoo (at least once a week), to avoid transferring germs and bacteria to your face. Surely I'm not alone in actually enjoying cleaning my brushes? There's something satisfying about appplying makeup with brushes that are as good as new, rather than grotty, gunged up tools. Anyway, onto showing you my most used...

1. Spectrum Foundation brush: This flat top brush leaves skin looking flawless. I apply my foundation by patting it on with this...

2. Real Techniques Buffing brush: I use this to apply powder at the moment and although it does a great job, I am after a larger one...

3. Spectrum Blush brush: This is the perfect angle and shape to use on cheeks...

4. Real Techniques Contour brush: I use this to apply highlight on my cheek bones as it's the perfect width...

5. Spectrum Concealer brush: I used to use my fingers to apply concealer, but this leaves much better results - especially for under the eye areas...

6. Spectrum Eyeshadow brush: This is the perfect shape size for eyelids and blends effectively...
7. Real Techniques Detailer brush: I use this to apply highlight in the inner corners of my eyes - a great tip to make you look more awake...

8. Spectrum Eyebrow brush: This is a perfectly angled brush for brows on days where I use powder rather than a pencil product...
9. Spectrum Lip brush: This is my chosen brush when applying lipstick. I really advise everyone to use a brush as it definitely results in a precise finish and improves longevity...

So there's my top makeup brushes which I'd recommend to you all! Next on my wishlist is the Real Techniques Stippling brush, the famous MAC 217 and, if my purse was a bit heavier, I'd definitely consider the Zoeva set.

What's your favourite makeup brush? Let me know in the comments!

  8. I've never heard of Spectrum brushes. Are they a UK brand? I love my RT brushes though - they are some of the best for the price (and even disregarding the price), I've ever tried.

  9. Awesome post! I never heard of Spectrum brushes before but they look lovely and great to use. Also, I'm not very good at cleaning my brushes, but I definitely agree it's so important to keep up with it.

  13. You've got a nice collection here. Actually never heard of spectrum brushes but they look really nice. I have a few Shu Uemera (or however you spell it) brushes and the quality is amazing. I also have some Bobbi Brown ones and a random Real Techniques stippling brush. I want more Real Techniques. They're like Pokémon - gotta catch 'em all! x
