Following on from my previous post where I introduced Dove's new Purely Pampering range and discussed their heavenly body washes and lotions (here), today's post is a review on the final edition from the collection - Body Oils.
Now I can't say i've ever used a body oil before now, infact I automatically assumed they'd be greasy and just not practical (surely i'm not alone?), but my oh my have these new releases changed my mind!
Dove kindly sent me the Pistachio Cream & Magnolia and the Shea Butter & Warm Vanilla body oils to give the test run. After testing them out a few times, it's safe to say I am a body oil convert (oo-er!). I used this on dry skin just after showering but they are suitable to use whenever you fancy. With a tiny opening that releases the perfect amount of product, the application couldn't be easier. It also goes fully against my expectations as it has a greasy feel of 0% and then there's the scents...
Just like the body washes and lotions, these oils smell divine! I struggled to smell much during application but after a few minutes the formula appears to work with skin and a subtle scent is released. The Pistachio Cream & Magnolia has to be my favourite as it's fresh and floral but the Shea Butter & Vanilla, which has a light, sweet scent, is a close second! The scents are amazing and linger on the skin for an impressive amount of time and never get too overpowering.
These oils really are effective, they absorb into skin almost instantly and my skin has never felt so soft. A plus is that they didn't react badly to my sensitive skin either! They retail for £8.99 which I think is really good for 150ml of product and they're perfect to use at this time of year after skin has been exposed to sunshine. In my eyes, Dove really have excelled themselves here!
Will you be giving these a go?
