For a while now luminous skin has become a popular look and searching for a suitable highlighter has become a task for many of us. Once applied to cheek bones and brow bones, highlighter can be extremely flattering. This post is based on two products that I frequently use, as you can see in the photos they are both well used.
Topshop Glow in 'Polish' (£9.00)
This is a creamy formula and provides a lovely reflective, dewy glow. There is also another shade available called 'Gleam' which gives a lovely glow with a rose gold hue. It's best to apply this product with your fingers using a dabbing motion. This highlighter is long lasting and is definitely worth the price. Although it looks like a small pot, i've had mine for a few months so it definitely lasts a while!
MUA Eye shadow Trio (~£3)
It's worth looking at eye shadows if you're after a powder highlighter. I discovered that this one from the MUA trio gives a lovely, subtle pearl toned glow. To apply this, I use my Real Techniques Contour Brush and just do one sweep of powder along my cheek bones. This product gives just the right amount of luminosity, be careful not to choose one that has too much shimmer as the aim is to look 'dewy' not like a glitter ball.
Both of these products are really effective and affordable! I tend to use powder when I'm wearing more natural make-up but on other occasions I opt for Topshop's 'Glow'.
