- High-Street Concealer: Which is Best?...

Today I will be focusing on two of the top selling high-street concealers, namely the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19) and the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer (£10).

Collection Lasting Perfection
This has received endless rave reviews and I completely back all of them. I always find myself returning to this concealer and have used up numerous tubes. It's the perfect consistency and is very buildable leading to amazing coverage! Even the biggest beasts from unknown territory (aka spots) can be covered up using this. My only flaw is with the packaging which can lead to things getting a bit messy. Does anyone else end up with an outer ring of product once the lid has been secured each time?

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer
This is a very cool concept as it contains a corrector for under eye circles and one for blemishes. It then has a separate powder compartment with applicator. Although the powder applies well, the shade was too light for me and that's saying something as i'm pale. The concealers themselves are an odd consistency for me. They seemed to need warming up before application else they were too thick and unblendable. This led to creases under the eyes and it being obvious that a layer of concealer was over a blemish, rather than it being blended in and disguising it.

Overall, Collection's concealer wins it for me. I find it more effective plus it's cheaper. I like the idea of the Soap & Glory one but I think perhaps it's better for those with oily skin as mine seemed too dry for it? There are still a few other high street concealers I need to try, such as Maybelline's Fit Me and Rimmel's Wake Me Up.

Have you tried either of these? What is your favourite high-street concealer?

  1. Good comparison as I had debated buying the soap and glory one! But I will stick with the collection :)

  2. Still need to try the Collection (still want to call it Collection 2000) concealer!
