- Avène Hydrance Optimale Light Hydrating Cream...

I've been using the Avène Hydrance Optimale Light Hydrating Cream as my daily moisturiser for a few months now. It took me a while to discover a moisturiser that I was happy enough with to repurchase. When testing certain brands, I found they were either too heavy on my skin, broke me out, caused a reaction with my sensitive skin, or weren't worth the high-end price tag. In my opinion, French skin care brands are some of the best (Bioderma & La Roche-Posay, for example) so that's when I decided to try Avène.

The main ingredient of Avène's products is the Avène Thermal Spring Water which contains properties that are naturally soothing and anti-irritating. Before buying this hydrating cream in full size, I discovered you can get a free sample off their website. On Avène's website there is a 'skin diagnosis'; this is a simple way for the brand to match your skin type with a suitable recommended skincare routine made up of their products. If you already know which products you wish to try, Mistry's also give out free samples of a number of Avène products.

For me, the light hydrating cream absorbs into skin at an impressive rate and is suitable to wear underneath make-up. It has a light, fresh scent which isn't off-putting at all. A huge bonus is that it contains SPF 20 which is really important now we're entering the Summer months.

I have been really impressed with this product and am keen to try some more from the range, such as the Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray and the Cleanance Mask. Overall, this is a well established, trusted brand and I will continue to use their hydrating cream on a day to day basis. It currently retails in Boots for £13.50 which I think is definitely worth it!

Have you tried this product? Which daily moisturiser do you recommend?
